Shipping policy
Crafts Cove Marine ships boats, motors, and gear across Canada and the United States. Orders are fulfilled from whichever location suits availability and your delivery address – our warehouses in Toronto and in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Spade anchors and moorings are available Canada-wide. The terms below govern shipping and payment for all orders placed through craftscove.ca.
Shipping costs
We work with leading carriers across Canada and the United States, including through Freightcom, which gives us access to competitive rates we can pass on to you. Shipping is calculated at checkout from the product's size and weight, your delivery location, and current carrier rates. There are no hidden fees at the door, and we don't mark up shipping – you pay what the carrier charges.
If anything about your delivery cost looks off – a tariff you disagree with, an oversized item, a remote address – tell us right away, before the order moves. Reach us at +1 877-815-8536 or via our contact form, and we'll sort out the freight question up front.
Coverage area
Canada – all provinces. We ship to every province and territory. Remote and fly-in communities may have extended transit times and an additional freight surcharge, which is shown at checkout or confirmed on inquiry.
United States – most areas. We ship throughout the contiguous USA. Certain remote or restricted locations may not qualify. Alaska and Hawaii are available by quote only. Duties and brokerage are the customer's responsibility unless otherwise agreed.
International. Need delivery outside Canada or the USA? We can arrange it for custom projects, though you'll be responsible for customs, duties, brokerage, and additional logistics costs. Get in touch before ordering so we can work out the details.
Order statuses
Order confirmed: Payment has been processed, and you will get a confirmation email with your order summary.
Prepared & dispatched: Your item is inspected, packaged, and handed to the carrier within 1–2 business days of payment clearing. A tracking number follows by email.
In transit: Parcel runs 3–5 business days; LTL freight 5–12 business days depending on destination. Remote and northern locations may take longer.
Delivered: Inspect your shipment before signing. Note any visible damage on the carrier's delivery receipt – this protects your claim rights.
Shipping methods by product type

| Inflatable boats | LTL freight, palletized | 5–12 business days | See packaging standards below. |

| Special / pre-order items | Per the manufacturer's schedule | Lead time varies | Confirmed at order |
Liftgate & residential delivery
Most boats and large motors are too heavy to lift by hand and require a lift gate to lower the pallet from the truck to the ground. To avoid a surprise carrier charge, select Residential Delivery at checkout – this includes the liftgate service in your shipping quote. Unsure whether your address needs it? Ask us before ordering.
Packaging standards
Outboard motors: Boxed in heavy-duty cartons with foam and plastic cushioning. A motor heavy enough to need freight is bolted or strapped securely to a pallet.
Inflatable boats: Folded, secured to a pallet, and shrink-wrapped in protective film. The freight carrier labels and tracks the full pallet.
Accessories & parts: Standard shipping boxes, with extra bubble wrap and corner guards for anything fragile or expensive.
Original packaging: Orders ship in the manufacturer's original packaging wherever possible. Spade anchors reach us without retail packaging and are repacked into rigid cartons before dispatch.
Lithium batteries: Classified as dangerous goods for air transport, they are transported only by ground. Remote addresses may take a few extra days as a result.
Receiving a freight delivery
A palletized freight delivery works differently from a courier drop-off. For LTL freight, the carrier typically contacts you to schedule a delivery window once the shipment reaches the local terminal. Delivery is to the curb – the driver isn't required to move equipment indoors or unpack it, so plan for a second pair of hands if the order is heavy.
Inspect before signing: Examine every item before signing. If you see damage, write "Product Damaged" on the driver's Bill of Lading (BOL) before signing – this is required to support any claim.
Report damage within 48 hours: Contact us within 48 hours of delivery if you find freight damage, including photos of the item and packaging, to info@craftscove.ca. We file the carrier claim on your behalf. (For returns of undamaged items, see our Refund Policy.)
Terminal pickup
For oversized goods, you can choose to collect your order from a local freight terminal instead of paying for residential delivery. It's often the most cost-effective option for boats and large motors. Ask us, and we'll arrange it.
Special & pre-order items
Some specialty or high-demand products are ordered directly from the manufacturer. A preliminary order secures your place in the production line, with Crafts Cove Marine handling the import logistics.
- Once your payment or deposit clears, we place the factory order on your behalf.
- Lead times depend entirely on the manufacturer's own production and shipping schedules.
- We confirm the forecasted timeline with you and send updates as they come in.
- Delivery terms for these items are agreed at the time of ordering.
Shipping insurance
We recommend shipping insurance on orders over $75. Without it, carriers usually reimburse only the cost of shipping on a lost parcel, not the value of its contents. To add coverage, contact us at +1 877-815-8536 or through our contact form before the order ships.
Payment
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, and Shop Pay. Shop Pay offers instalment plans on eligible orders, letting you spread the cost over monthly payments. For larger purchases such as a complete propulsion package, financing is also available through POSPRO Financial; see our Financing page. All transactions use encrypted payment systems, and Crafts Cove Marine does not store full card details.
Common shipping questions
Where does Crafts Cove Marine ship?
Across Canada and to most of the United States, fulfilled from our Toronto and Dartmouth locations depending on product availability. Spade anchors and moorings ship Canada-wide. Eligibility for a given address is confirmed at checkout.
How will a motor or boat arrive?
Large items are palletized and delivered curbside by LTL freight carrier. The carrier calls in advance to arrange a delivery window. Inspect the packaging before signing the delivery receipt.
What is LTL freight?
Less-than-truckload freight ships your palletized order on a shared truck, with the carrier booking a delivery appointment and dropping at the curb. It's the standard method for items too large or heavy for a parcel courier.
The freight cost on a big item looks wrong. What should I do?
Tell us before ordering by calling +1 877-815-8536 or using our contact form. We'll confirm the transport cost up front, which is always simpler than sorting it out once a shipment is moving.
What should I do if my order arrives damaged?
Write "Product Damaged" on the carrier's BOL before signing, then send photos to info@craftscove.ca within 48 hours of delivery. We file the carrier claim for you.
Can I save on shipping for a large item?
Yes. For oversized goods, you can collect from a local freight terminal instead of paying for residential delivery, which is often the most cost-effective option. Ask us, and we'll arrange it.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. Shop Pay instalment plans are available on eligible orders, with terms shown at
